About Jane

After studying contemporary dance at the Laban Centre in London, Jane danced professionally for a decade, worldwide, before sustaining a serious, career ending injury.

As part of her rehabilitation in Miami, USA, she was introduced to Pilates. Upon returning to the UK, she made the decision to study Pilates full time, qualifying as a Teacher in 2000.

Since then, she has dedicated herself to Pilates, teaching both mat work and studio equipment (Reformer; Cadillac; Tower; Wunda Chair and Spine Corrector), as well as actively developing her skills and knowledge by working with, and being taught by, some of the world’s best teachers.

“I am a great advertisement for Pilates. Spending life in a wheelchair after an injury, then having to learn to walk again, Pilates literally got me back on my feet”

As well as her regular work with clients in the Studio, Jane has also worked a variety of people with unique needs, for instance, working with eating disorder groups at Cheadle Royal Hospital for 19 years, or presenting at the annual Thalidomide Trust Annual Conference.

Her clients have also included people from the world of performing arts, as well as a range of professional sportspeople, including cricketers, footballers, and rugby players along with members of the British Olympic Cycling team.

In 2019, Jane realised a long-held ambition, opening her own dedicated equipment studio. This state-of-the-art space offers a calm, safe and inviting environment, and features high quality Classical Pilates equipment, designed, and built, to Joseph Pilate’s original specification.

Jane’s clients attend from all over Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Greater Manchester, including Wilmslow, Alderley Edge and Altrincham.
